Carly Marchment

Artist bio

.
Born in 1980 in the picturesque Macleay Valley Region, Marchment is a disabled Australian artist currently based in Crescent Head, NSW. Her artistic practice centers on painting and mixed media, primarily utilizing oils to create compelling portraiture and figurative works. Inspired by her surroundings, she beautifully captures the connection between people and their environments, aiming to evoke deep emotional responses.

Marchment's current exploration focuses on themes of inaccessibility and discrimination within the disability community, drawing from her own experiences with mobility challenges. Her art is distinguished by bold imagery and dynamic color, inviting viewers to challenge their perceptions and fostering meaningful connections. Embracing freedom from daily distractions, she experiments with various mediums and techniques, allowing new ideas to emerge organically in her creative process.
